Itinerary
In the afternoon, enjoy a boat ride on Dal Lake, one of India's prominent lakes in Srinagar. The city unfolds with landscaped gardens, clear lakes, and iconic houseboats against the Pir Panjal Mountains. Dal Lake, spanning 22 square kilometers, offers a picturesque setting. Experience the charm of Srinagar by taking a ride on the 'Shikara,' a small wooden boat. Later, return to the houseboat for an overnight stay in Srinagar.
After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to Pahalgam, approximately 96 km and a 3-hour drive. Known as the "Valley of Shepherds," Pahalgam offers a picturesque setting. Check in at the hotel and enjoy nature walks along the banks of the Lidder River. Pahalgam is renowned for its trekking routes and serves as the base camp for the Amarnath Pilgrimage. Overnight stay in Pahalgam.
Explore Pahalgam's charm with a local union cab for 2-3 hours. Begin at Chandanwari, the gateway to Amarnath Yatra, experiencing winding paths and picturesque landscapes. Visit the Sheshnag mountain lake and proceed to Panchtarni, leading to the revered Amarnath Cave. Discover Betaab Valley's snow-covered peaks and dense forests, named after the Bollywood film "Betaab." Explore Aru, a charming village and starting point for treks to Kolahoi glacier. In the evening, immerse yourself in the vibrant Pahalgam bazaar. Enjoy an overnight stay in the heart of Pahalgam.
After breakfast, drive to Gulmarg, the "Meadow of Flowers," situated at 2730 meters above sea level. It's a scenic 145 km, five-hour drive from Pahalgam. Check into the hotel upon arrival and explore Gulmarg, known for its beauty and premier hill resort status. Enjoy individual activities and the world's highest green golf course. In winter, it transforms into India's top ski resort. Experience the Gondola ride's first phase for breathtaking views of Nanga Parbat. Overnight stay in Gulmarg.
After breakfast, transfer to Srinagar, where you'll explore the renowned Mughal Gardens. Visit Nishat Bagh (Abode of Pleasure), constructed in 1632 AD by Asif Khan, brother of Empress Noorjehan. Explore Shalimar Bagh (Abode of Love), built in 1633 AD by Jehangir for his wife Noor Jehan. These gardens, located on the banks of Dal Lake, offer scenic views of the picturesque Zabarwan Mountains. After breakfast, head to Sonamarg for a scenic full-day excursion, about 96 km away. Enjoy the picturesque drive through the Sindh Valley, surrounded by mountains and pine forests. Explore Sonamarg, known for its captivating landscapes, and take a pony ride to Thajiwas glacier, famous for its glaciers and scenic beauty. Return to Srinagar in the evening for an overnight stay. The next day, after breakfast, transfer to Srinagar airport for your onward flight.
